Rival designed a new site for Sperry Top-Sider that brought their positioning, "passion for the sea in, on and around the water," to life online. In addition to re-architecting the site to create a better shopping experience, Rival created a number of features to make the Sperry site more of a destination for fans of the nautical lifestyle and Sperry shoes. We created a community section which lets users dip their toes into the brand a little deeper by enabling them to share their stories about how they enjoy the sea and what adventures they have been on with their Sperry shoes. A blog was also added to the site so that users can follow Sperry to events, meet the professional athletes they sponsor and to learn about new footwear designs in the works. And we created a section that shows the inspirations between each season's line of shoes as well as details on the technology that makes their shoes perfect for nautical sports.
We were able to see results almost immediately after launching the new site. Overall customer satisfaction rose by 4%, and there was an increase in both the users' likelihood to make a purchase (online AND off - store locator visits increased 10%!), and also the likelihood that they would recommend and return to the site. Mostly importantly however, we saw a boost in sales. In the weeks after the launch, overall orders spiked up 6%, gross revenue increased by 9%, and over $7,000 in revenue was directly attributed to the new Shop By Activity pages we created.
